reason / objective
Provide full event management, production and filming for a 21st birthday party held at the family home. The brief from the birthday boy was that he wanted to build his very own ‘lounge bar’ for his party.
concept / solution To manage the invitation and RSVP process a website was set up and a ‘brand’ created for the 21 Club – the lounge bar for the night.
A 36m x 18m contemporary peaked structure was installed and broken into three clear sections. The Reception area was created with a curved blue Perspex dividing wall with four Dan Flavin inspired light fixtures installed to the area, together with interactive floor. A central 4m circular sofa and contemporary poseur tables and stools completed the lounge feel. Here guests enjoyed cocktails and light canapés
In the secondary section of the structure a cool dining area was created – this aspect of the structure was fully lined in silver two tone organza drapery with a Tom Dixon chrome sphere flown above each table as a modern take on a table centre. The dining area had a centrally positioned raised circular revolving bar where cocktail mixologists from Londons Mahiki provided West End style cocktails and performed a flair show. The 4 course dinner was provided by caterers Create.
Following the after dinner speeches a completely separate nightclub area was revealed with a curtain raising synchronised with a light show and the clients favourite popular music track. The nightclub area included an on stage live band interchanged with a DJ, and a mirrored dancefloor with raised dance podiums where guest partied late into the night.
Smyles Film team recorded all aspects of the event and provided an edited DVD post event.
