clients comments

"I cannot praise you and the team highly enough for your fantastic understanding of our vision, can-do attitude, brilliant staging and fabulous delivery of our launch. The slick transformation of the venue into a TV studio for the spectacular evening performance has also been praised by numerous colleagues and I have received nothing but positive feedback.

I would just like to say that it was a pleasure working with you and your staff and thank you for making this event such a success."

reason / objective

Smyle was asked to provide the technical production for the internal launch of Napp’s most recent product in a conference environment for 850 delegates.
The Imperial War Museum at Duxford was selected as the location, specifically the conservation space: an area that had never housed an event of this scale before. This posed issues that immediately needed resolving, specifically the location of the presentation screens and the seating arrangement. The clients brief insisted that the event should be very memorable, and in keeping with the new product’s high-quality image.

concept / solution

The production team at Smyle focused on ensuring the huge Conservation Space was made a more intimate environment for the presentation and suggested that a 12m Hexagon should be flown from the roof. This could then house 7 projection screens split with alternate feeds enabling both the presentation and live filmed footage to be viewed by the audience simultaneously.
This then enabled a solution for the seating by utilising tiered, high quality temporary seating provided by Arena; the seats arranged in a circular format covering 3 sides of the stage creating an amphitheatre style layout.
The stage itself was a custom built 14m diameter sphere with 2 sweeping ramps providing access to the front. The stage surface was then finished in a high quality floor vinyl printed with the product’s logo.
The event was an internal event, aimed at employees of Napp.  The event was divided into two sections, the first session being a focus on the product itself with speeches from a motivational speaker, Napp’s European Director and a number of employees. The delegates then headed into another space for lunch and an inspiring ‘fly through’ of some of IWM historical aircraft.
For the second part of the day, delegates returned to the Conservation Space to find the area completely transformed to host an evening performance of a TV style dance competition by some of the Napp employees.
