reason / objective
Smyle Productions were invited to technically produce and manage several event projects. This included the collation and design of Media, production of all aspects of their various conferences and the incorporation of numerous break-out rooms. The final element was the production of a Gala dinner at the end of the week for 1500 delegates.
concept / solution Pre event - Smyle Productions collated all the media. An opening sting was developed to document 5 different films, shown simultaneously and each 2 ½ minutes long. Smyle edited and produced the films integrating a thirty second montage of the colossus of Rhodes that was all computer generated in 3D. Various other media was also designed and collated using PowerPoint, Flash, After Effects, and Avid editing.
A number of articulated lorries were used to transport Smyle’s equipment to site. Smyle’s team consisted of 60 staff including video editors, audio technicians, lighting designers, show callers, producers, IT engineers, riggers, PowerPoint designers, projectionists, set builders, carpenters, choreographers, dancers along with various other technicians and crew.
Smyle designed the set for the main conference incorporating interactive glass screens, never used before as a portable solution for a conference. The set incorporated 5 projection screens at five meters wide using 16:9 ratio. This allowed 1500 delegates to view the screens clearly and provide the impact for the video stings and presentations. The show was then enhanced using moving yoke lights together with 5.1 Dolby surround sound sweeping audio around the room to create a truly cinematic experience. Smyle also supplied simultaneous interpretation for delegates in a number of different languages.
The Gala dinner at the end of the week was the social event of the conference. Taking place in a 70 meter wide glass dome with swimming pool in the middle, Smyle had to provide something that was not only creative but had to impress on the wide cultural spectrum. The pool had 1500 floating candles placed in it, one for each delegate. We then provided a full band lighting and audio rig on a circular stage in the middle of a large swimming pool to complement the venue. |
